The amplicon size field is currently integers only. For 16S metagenomic data, the amplicon size often varies in length. For example, for 16S sequencing that targets the V3/V4 or V6/V7 region of bacterial 16S rRNA, the primer set we used produce an amplicon size of between 300-400. That can't be used as an input for the portal submission at the present.
Perhaps the field can be changed to free text or an additional field that captures the range.
