math test not rendering

I've tried viewing the math demo page in firefox 6.0 (debian squeeze), firefox 5 (Mac OS 10.6), Safari 5.05 (Mac OS 10.6).

What I see (minus the mathjax which does render) is roughly:

Let be any function. We say that is continuous at if, for every Misplaced & there exists Misplaced & such that
Misplaced &
We say that is continuous if for every and Misplaced &, we can find a Misplaced & to satisfy the above condition. We say,
further, that is uniformly continuous if for every Misplaced &, there exists a Misplaced &, such that for all the above holds.

I've also tried pasting some of the examples from mathjax.org into a repo wiki, and the results have been mixed. Sometimes the page gets stuck processing. Other times the displayed equation is missing parts (and different parts over reloads). To reproduce, paste into a wiki:

= i \hbar \frac{\partial}{\partial t} \Psi \]

I haven't had any trouble viewing math formulas on other mathjax-enabled sites.
